About Kennett, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Kennett is the county seat of Dunklin County in the southeast Missouri Bootheel. In the early 19th century the settlement that would later grow into the city of Kennett started out with the name of Chilletecaux, in honor of a local Indian chief. In the 1840s the town was renamed Butler, and in 1851 it was once more renamed, this time after St. Louis mayor Luther M. Kennett. In the 1890s the railroad arrived in the area, and a massive drainage project in the nearby St. Francis River basin converted much of the surrounding property into valuable farmland. Today this city of 11,000 residents produces soybeans, cotton,  rice, watermelon and other agricultural products that are distributed throughout the U.S. Kennett is also the hometown of Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow.

Kennett's climate is classified as humid subtropical, which means that summers are hot and steamy but winters are usually fairly mild. The city averages about 95 rainy days out of every year, with the wettest months being March, April and May when you'll likely need an umbrella every third day. The Fall Into Arts Festival is held in early September every year, while the Delta Fair takes place later in the month.
