About Blytheville, AR - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Blytheville is one of two county seats of Mississippi County, Arkansas. It was founded in  1879 by Methodist clergyman Henry T. Blythe, and incorporated in 1889. Blytheville was originally a lumber mill town, and later became a center for cotton farming. The town is still home to one of the nation's largest cotton gins, although soybeans and rice have also become important local crops. Blytheville also has a steel industry, and up until 1991 was home to the Blytheville/Eaker Air Force Base, part of the Strategic Air Command. Much of Blytheville's history is depicted in its famous four-part mural located downtown on Main Street. The Delta Gateway Museum, which does not charge admission, has several hands-on exhibits about the history of the city and its surrounding area.

Blytheville summers are long, bringing heat and humidity, but winters typically feature more rain than snow. Blytheville's unique shopping experiences include Sisters at the Crossing, which offers antiques and collectibles and a tearoom in a restored dry goods store from the early 1900s, and That Bookstore in Blytheville, supposedly a favorite haunt of author and Jonesboro native John Grisham. Outdoor recreation opportunities can be found at the 18-hole Thunder Bayou Golf Links course and Big Lake National Wildlife Refuge. In early March the Delta Gateway Museum holds its annual Heritage Party, and May brings another heritage festival, the outdoor Mayfest.
