About Malden, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Malden, Missouri lies along a sand ridge that runs north and south between the lowlands of New Madrid County on the east side and the Ozark Mountains foothills on the west. The town was established in 1877 as the western terminus of the Little River Valley and Arkansas Railroad, and local legend has it that the name came in a dream to an overnight guest of the civil engineer charged with laying out the new town. Malden was incorporated as a city in 1889, and one of its first brick buildings, the 1890 Dunklin County Bank, still stands today at the corner of Main and Douglas Streets. Malden has two college campuses, satellites of the Three Rivers Community College and Southeast Missouri State University systems.

One of Malden's top attractions is the Boothill Youth Museum, which in 2012 was awarded the the nation's top honor for museums, the National Medal for Museum and Library Service. Its hands-on exhibits include displays and activities based on space exploration, the Lewis and Clark expedition and the “Children Village” whose play areas include a pretend grocery store and restaurant. Malden is also home to the Malden Historical Museum whose exhibits include an antique doll collection, a display of late 19th/early 20th century garments and furnishings, military uniforms and memorabilia from WWI through Operation Desert Storm and a number of artifacts from ancient Egypt. Malden has a typical climate for southeastern Missouri, with long, hot summers, mild winters and plenty of year-round precipitation.
